The brief
A fifth birthday at a villa, held inside — glass walls, jungle pressing against them, no sun to fight. Safari, with a proper sit-down dinner for the adults happening in the same room, which is the request we get most often from families hosting other families.
What we built
The children’s end first: a giraffe standing at the glass, a carved <i>JUNGLE</i> arrow, and a dessert table built on wooden crates and a barrel — cake pops shaped as animals, jars of sweets, biscuits, a cake with <i>ANDRII 5</i> and a lion on top. Cream, orange, olive and chrome gold balloons through it all, live greenery at the base, and a wicker picnic basket set down on the floor.
How the day went
Ten steps away the adults sat down to a long table dressed in white linen with raffia placemats, terracotta napkins, tapered candles and tropical florals — heliconia, red ginger, white roses. Soft toys and a toy jeep were left along the sofa so the smallest guests had somewhere of their own to land, and a chocolate fountain ran at the end of the room all evening.
What the parents got
One room, two parties, one palette — and because all of it was built indoors, the weather was never a consideration at any point.
